For my senior year, I decided to continue taking Spanish with hopes of continuing through college to eventual fluency. Unfortunately, Becca has moved on from Animas but Crystal Pennington, my new teacher, will be fun to work with as well. Cuentos Folclóricos
1) ¿Qué es tu proyecto?
Por este proyecto, nosotros creamos presentaciónes de cuentos folclóricos en español. Mi cuento era el cuento de los volcanes Ixytaccíhuatl y Popocatéptl.
2) ¿Qué hiciste?
Escogí a crear un video a representar el cuento. Dibujé el arte con un lápiz y unos bolígrafos antes de escaneé los dibujos a la computadora. Usé GIMP a colorear los personajes antes de hice páginas y pusé los páginas en un video.
3) ¿Cuándo tuviste éxito?
Tuve éxito cuándo trabajé a mi casa. El proyecto tomó muchas horas más que anticipé a terminar, pero el proceso era liso sin muchas problemas.
4) ¿Cuáles fueron tus desafíos?
Mi mejor desafío era tiempo. Los semanos pasados eran muy ocupado y a pesar de trabajando en escuela y en mi casa mucho, aún tuve muchas problemas con tiempo.

Movimientos Artisticos
This project was very fun for me because we combined the study of art history with new concepts and vocabulary in Spanish. To start, we each chose a movement in art to study. The movement that I chose was impressionism, which is part of the larger modernist movement. From this movement, we were each expected to choose two pieces: A poem and a painting. We were to create our own artistic pieces based on the themes from the movement and the pieces themselves and then write descriptions of our work. Because I do not currently have access to my camera, the pictures of my pieces will have to wait until tomorrow. However, I can still explain my work and post my descriptions until then.
The painting that I chose was Pancorbo:Train Passing by Darío de Regoyos, pictured above. I recreated the piece in my own style and then wrote a description about it, which you can read here. This is the piece that I was most proud of in the course of this project.
The poem that I chose from this movement was Walking Around, by Pablo Neruda. You can read it by clicking here. Then I painted anther picture based on the themes of that poem. Finally, I wrote a description of the piece, which you can read by clicking here.
I really enjoyed this project for its use of art in the context of learning Spanish. If I had more time, I would take the opportunity to continue to refine the piece that I created off of my poem because I believe that there was a stronger way to integrate the themes of the poem with my actual piece. However, I am happy with the results of this project and look forward to our projects in the future.
