LINK Internship
For three weeks in March, every student in the junior class will attend an internship of their choice, having attended meetings and interviews in order to arrive at that point. This is a very exciting experience as it will allow students to begin participating actively in our community and do so through various job opportunities. In the process of applying for our internships, we coordinate with Rachael Sands, who is part of Animas's college and career counseling department. She is an absolutely wonderful person who is very dedicated to her job and is always willing to sit down and talk about our internships.
For our internships, we were required to create resumes as well as project proposals in order to start to get an idea for our projects. These may be found below.

For my internship, I will be working at the Durango Public Library, helping to coordinate their annual poetry competition. This will be a very exciting experience for me for a number of reasons, just starting with the fact that I absolutely love writing and I have participated in the competition before so I have a basic understanding of how things work. I spend a lot of my time at the library anyway and am familiar with the building and and starting to get to know the staff as well. I'm very excited to be spending my internship here and will be happy to write about it in the future as I gather more information!
